Angie Jackson will be touring across the Midwest in 2022 with her book about cocktails, herbalism, foraging, and more.
MICHIGAN — Prominent Midwest Mixologist, Angie Jackson (known professionally as The Traveling Elixir Fixer), is touring the Great Lakes State with her debut book, Drink the Wild: Recipes from a Kitchen Witch for the Spirited and Sober Soul. Scheduling inquiries for events, book readings, signings, and recipe tastings for libraries, book stores, restaurants, and other venues can be made to cocktailcottage@gmail.com.
Drink the Wild is Angie’s debut book, comprised of drink recipes created throughout her 25-year career as a culinary mixologist, and crafted with fresh, local ingredients and foraged wild plants. It features four sections of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails designed for the seasons, built with base elixirs like homemade vermouth, amaro, and bitters, that are organized alphabetically in The Apothecary chapter. Though these recipes are crafted with wild plants and wellness in mind, they are firmly rooted in the tradition of the craft cocktail and beverage culture.
“We can drink things that are delicious, good for us, and good for the wild world we are part of. All it takes is the right proportion of culinary mixology, herbalist tradition, and your inner kitchen witch. That’s where I come in.”
